SCHOOL YEARS

I saw these pictures and felt I had to share them.

Can you remember the old desks with the lift up lids? We used to stick our favourite pictures on them and write on them…..I never did that honest! I had a picture of a seahorse as I loved horses but could not draw them so did a sea horse instead. I can remember that so vividly, wish I still had it. How many times have I said that about things I have given to charity or thrown out. Mind you, a very large loft would be needed to house everything you ever had. Maybe it is best to dream and remember.

What about the milk bottles and poking your straw in the top. Everybody drank the milk, not like nowadays where some are intolerant to it. It was always so cold and refreshing but you had to drink it quick so you could get out in the play ground for play time. Did you play Bull Dog or kiss chase? I liked both and could run quite fast, I can remember kissing a boy ( a peck ) behind the wall but we got caught for going behind it not for kissing. We just got told off, could of been so much worse and had lines all week.

I must of been a very chatty child as I cannot remember much of the work but I can remember doing lines. “I must not talk in class”. We had to do about two pages I think of A4 size but we did it downwards and wrote all the I then all the must, it always seemed to get completed quicker if we did it like that.

Can you remember the lady bird books? My favourite was Princess and the Pea. I found the how to series very good as a mother especially, How to play chess. We all learnt together, maybe the children learnt a little bit quicker than myself.

I wish I could remember everybody’s name from my childhood, it is great catching up with people and hearing what they have done and where they have been. Face Book has made that attainable for so many people.

Memories, I will leave you thinking about your childhood now. Happy Sunday everyone. X
