WHY

Why is it I can sit in a bar anywhere in Greece or Spain and have a drink or a meal all on my own and feel perfectly at peace with myself? In Britain I don’t even like walking in first and would not even contemplate going in and having a meal or a drink! What is it that makes me feel so comfortable doing it abroad? Is it the fact that no one knows me so I do not care what they may or may not think about me? Or are you so relaxed and on holiday so you don’t think or worry about these things? I keep asking myself these questions and have done for the past 7 years since I first went to live in Spain. Or was it because I had a bar there and saw myself how many women came in alone and I mean English women who were there on holiday or lived there and they looked so comfortable and at ease that I just decided to follow their idea.
Sitting here all alone having a beer and doing this feels so right so it’s the way forward lol IMG_2906.JPG
I have had a very girly day today and deep conditioned my hair as it was beginning to feel like straw, I used the Australian Aussie deep conditioner that you only have to leave on 3 minutes, I did leave mine on longer as I figure the sun has a lot to answer for. The softness afterwards was unbelievable and I will certainly be using it again and what a bargain as it is one of the small travel sizes you can buy in Superdrug and you get 3 for £3 so that and wipes for taking your make-up off and a small hairspray and I was sorted.

I then took all my nail varnish off and re-applied, wishing that my nails had grown a bit more so I could put some colour on them as I bit them all off a couple of weeks ago…..yes, it was a bad day so now they are so short I don’t want to put any colour on them to draw attention to them.
I have also written up some notes for future blog posts as my head appeared to be brimming with ideas, must be the sun! Lol
The writing group starts again in October and we were asked to do a couple of things if we wanted to and had time during the summer. So today I have sat and listened to conversations and taken notes about the things people talk about, the first thing that struck me doing this was the amount of different languages and accents and then I got thinking about the accents in Britain, could you count them? No, no way as you sometimes only have to go up the road in some places and it changes. I find Scottish accents extremely hard to understand and the very broad northern people. What do people from Europe think about all our different accents or do we all sound the same to them as I do think the Chinese language sounds the same but they have so many different variations of their dialect just like us in Britain and I cannot tell the difference at all.

  1. I have been calling in for a while (Nooooooooooooo not so often lately I know) and this is the first time that I have seen that you live in Spain, I thought that you were in the UK 🙂 Hmm… It just shows how observant I am I guess… lol

I am pleased you had fun on your holiday and don’t forget to call in and have a drink again sometime, who cares what other people think, it is your business not theirs, whether on holiday or at home 🙂 Be wary of that Amstel though as I have heard that it produces some of the smelliest farts known to man and woman 🙂 lmao

Have fun today Nanny Cool 🙂
