DO WE TALK ABOUT IT A LOT?

I can hear you all wondering what I am going to be talking about and I think we probably do talk about it a lot as to some degree it shapes our day.  Yes, it is the weather and apart from the very unusual aspects of it I guess it is very boring.  It is worse when it’s cold as you don’t really do anything unless you like snow, ice, wind, rain etc etc but I do not, sometimes I think I may have that SAD condition I should get myself a special light and sit in front of it.

Today I have stayed in bed to write as it is the warmest place and if I get a bit cold I just put the electric blanket on and I am all toasty again.  Of course I would rather be outside sitting in the sunshine writing but as usual it is raining, cold and overcast, never two days the same so cannot plan anything.  Oh dear! I am moaning again, maybe I should jet off to some sunshine to fill my body with heat ooooo now I’m thinking of sea, cocktails and laying on the beach.

My daughter went camping at the weekend and I popped in to see them Saturday evening and stayed for dinner, yes, dinner.  No barbecue burnt offerings here, she has an open air fire and slow cooker and Jodie made lasagna and hot bread!  Amazing I can hear you all say and it was delicious.  I was pleased to come home and warm up though.  Lovely new tent that is a bit like a tardiss as it is so big inside with two separate bedrooms.

When I saw my friend Angela last week for coffee we said that we would try and each write at least 200 words a day as we were both having too many days of not writing anything and telling ourselves that we were planning!  I really was, honest.  Well today I have been very good and written just over a 1,000 so have finished the short story now so it’s time to read and edit, it’s so boring editing as you know the story and I still miss things no matter how many times I read it.

Have a good week everyone x

  1. Well we had temperatures of 35c here today and it`s getting to winter. It is pretty cool at 6 in the morning when I take my sunrise photos and have a coffee in the garden. Even in the mid winter it never gets colder than 22c indoors. Hope that makes you feel warmer. 🙂

      • If you want to live in SA there are a lot of drawbacks. The only thing we have is the weather everything else has gone to the dogs. Some of the worlds biggest criminals are running the country 🙂 My son was burgled again this week.

        • That must be awful to be burgled. Do you think about coming back? I guess every country has its good and bad points. We just have to decide where we are happy. I would like the winter in Spain and summer here in UK but that requires a lottery win. Lol x

          • Yes we have thought of going back to the UK. We lived there for a while and then came back to SA in 2002 when I found it difficult to get a job, due to age. The weather is much kinder to old bones here but with the conversion of 19/1 my money is not worth anything now 🙂 As you say, a lottery win would solve all the problems. I have been very lucky as we have never had a burglary (touch wood) but all my kids have. My wife thinks it`s my dark Aura that keeps us safe. But I think it`s just looking at your place and making sure it looks harder to get in than next door, and locking up properly. A little bit of paranoia goes a long way here. 🙂
