BLOODY WEATHER!

img_1511

I thought it was bad enough yesterday when the arch fell down in the wind, all the bottom legs are bent so that is for the bin.

Then this morning at 4am the whole fence came down, I could not see the damage until later but knew it was bad by the sound of it.  All my roses, grape-vine, lavender, rosemary and new ground covers are all under this.  My grandson came round and wedged it up but it has come down again so it will need breaking up and taking to dump.

At the same time in the early hours all the bins were flying about the front banging on the walls.  I am so sad as I love my garden, I am now hibernating in bed until further notice. 😦

  1. So sorry Karen, it’s devastating isn’t it when you wake up to something like this. I’m sure your family and friends will rally round once the weather has calmed down. We only have a little covered patio, as you know, but even that had a big pot smashed and others blown around. As others have said, hopefully the plants will survive once replanted, plus your other ornamental things. Lots of love from us xxxx

  2. With luck the weather will have settled down by tomorrow for you Karen. I’m so sorry about the destruction of the fence but maybe it’s protecting your plants underneath. It’s a shame about the little cycle but maybe it’ll give you chance to be a bit more creative again.

      • Whatever form of art you work at can never be called ‘Only’ Karen. A garden can lift the blues by working on it or sitting in it. I’m sorry it’s made you low and I’m glad you have family there to lean on a bit at a time like this. I agree everything is that bit harder alone, sometimes it’s hard to raise any enthusiasm like that. I’d say everything will look better in the sunshine but I don’t want you to wait that long.

  3. Karen I sympathise: same has happened to us. Hope you can get it sorted soon. BTW it was nice meeting you at the writers’ workshop. Enjoyed hearing your contribution and I really like your blog. Cheers, Jo.
