MISS CHRISTIE REGRETS BY GUY FRASER-SAMPSON – BOOK REVIEW

fullsizeoutput_a18

This is the second of the Hampstead murder mysteries by Guy Fraser-Sampson and what a brilliant one, I thought the first one was good Death In Profile but this exceeded that.  I love the way you can almost see each clue as it unfolds in the writing as it is so cleverly composed.  No computers to find results or clues just good old-fashioned police work and bringing in Agatha Christie is a touch of genius.

I like the way we are getting to know the characters of Hampstead ‘nick’ with just enough details about their lives to keep you attached to them and follow their roles in work and at home. I still did not guess who did the murder until almost the end as all the clues pointed to different people.  I think it must have been really good to be in the police force back in the day as this shows you how they painstakingly went through papers and clues to find what they were looking for.

Brilliant story and a super series by Guy Fraser-Sampson

During the summer of 2017 the next Hampstead murder will be available, this one being called A Whiff Of Cyanide
