BLOG V VLOG

img_3943

I have always liked blogging as it is something you can do anytime, anywhere so long as you have internet.  You can write about anything or be focussed on just a particular theme, there are many beauty style blogs around at the moment especially for the younger generation who are really into make-up, with their highlighting and contouring but how would the teenager find your blog?

I still think it is hard to get your blog out there as unless you look in the blogging sites like WordPress or you know them to follow on social media then how do new people find you?  I am finding it ok for the people of Folkestone as I leave my cards about and am on the Folkestone sites but other than that I get most of my followers from doing book reviews for authors and publishers.

Do other bloggers have these problems?  What do you do to advertise yourself?

Would you ever attempt a vlog?  I know I would definitely not as I really do not like the sound of my own voice, even though I am sure I could talk for ever about anything.  I guess you still have to have a theme that would appeal to most people so chatting away about your family is not going to work.

I must admit I do consciously avoid the posts in my feed that are vlogs or even just videos about anything, I prefer to just read a variety of blogs.

Do you read a set theme or a variety?

  1. I once held your view. Then I realized that 60% of all content consumed online is video format. That opened my eyes to the fact that I HAD to adapt or I would become a dinosaur. Since I started the videos my views have skyrocketed and I now have a huge following in the younger age range. I am in the digital world professionally and I see how Google, Facebook, Twitter are all moving to video platforms. Eventually video will be a necessity. 🙂
