EASTER 🐣 2018

I do hope you are all having an enjoyable weekend no matter what you are doing, I always think about the people who have to work during any holidays and I have so much respect for them.

My day was started with an Easter egg hunt over the pub The Hungry Horse in Folkestone with my daughter Billie and family. Mia and Zac were working up an appetite for lunch with Mia being very pleased with herself that she could get all the way across the monkey bars.

They each got an egg for completing the hunt and finding all the eggs, considering this was free I was really pleased that they had got the children a proper egg. I am hoping to take them all to see the new Peter Rabbit film this week.

Dinner was nice and the roast was 2 for £10 so another bargain. I also got an egg from Billie I wonder how long it will last LOL.

As usual the best bit of the lunch was the deserts, I had the millionaires cheesecake, Paul had the hot fudge cake and the children had ice-cream mania with Billie and Jade sharing a big one.

Dimple face, she lost her front tooth the other day, I have never known a child who so enjoys pulling her teeth out! A lovely day was had by all of us.

LADIES WHO LUNCH AT THE BLACKBULL HUNGRY HORSE, FOLKESTONE UK

This day came round very quick due to some having holidays coming up so we had to make the most of today as our next one is not until the 28th June.  Lynda was missing as was gallivanting about in Madera with her daughter Jo.  It was a cold, miserable rainy day but very happy round our table, we celebrated Sylvie’s birthday and she got some lovely presents, you know they are lovely when others want them to.  I even remembered to take photos today!!! I know, your all so shocked but look at these dinners, they were good.

We did have some extremely upsetting news as our lovely Liv who manages the place  (and us) and her Rob are going to be leaving soon, it will not be the same without you guys so we may have to trek to Thanet for some lunches, I wonder if they will do B&B? lol.  I did hear there is a wedding coming up, can you imagine that, The ladies who lunch go to a wedding!  I am sure we would behave, well some of us lol.

Dessert, I have got to say that the millionaire cheesecake was the best I have had, it was delicious and I will be having that again.

A good time was had by all, I returned and went back to bed as still not feeling right but they did all cheer me up so I am pleased I did make the effort.

Corinne bought me down my new mattress topper and put that on for me so bed is nice and comfy, I came back to see that Peaches had made herself very comfortable on the bed.

LUNCH WITH THE LADIES, APRIL

It is that time of the month again and I must say I thought it was one of our best lunches, boy did we laugh.  We celebrated Corinne’s birthday, she received some lovely presents and stayed at mine so she could have some wine, then in the evening we went onto cocktails.  Sorry to say that there are no pictures as all the chatting and laughing distracted me, lol.  The Hungry Horse is our favourite place, food is good, wine is cheap and the staff are so lovely.

Going down to Rocksalt in the harbour where we both love to sit looking out over the sea with the 2for1 delicious cocktails between 5 and 7 in the evening, we were really disappointed as after waiting twenty minutes for a drink they then told us they were shutting in 7 minutes as they were having a comedy night.  The bar girl made us one drink and I have to say she did it very quickly and not the same as the cocktail man so we were very disappointed and it has really put us off going there again.

Love the many faces of Lynda!  Roll on May, I have the best friends ever and love them all so much.

LADIES WHO LUNCH AT THE HUNGRY HORSE, FOLKESTONE

The once a month lunch date seems to come round quicker every month but I am not complaining as for me and I think some others as well it is the best day of the month.  I really do look forward to it so much and we really do have such a laugh and always have a birthday to celebrate and lots of news to share.

The best bit of news this time was that Sharon is to be a Nan in August, I should say a very excited Nan, so that will need to be celebrated.

Lynda’s daughter Jo joined us today so she now knows who these ladies are that her Mum lunches with every month, was lovely to see her so happy and looking good, must have something to do with the new man in her life.

The puddings seem to get better and better here, in fact everything is good from the service to food and the general ambiance of the place, then you have the great prices, what more do you want.  Roll on next month and yes we are back here again.
