SUMMER BUCKET LIST

img_4353

Someone asked me if I was going away in my camper van this summer and it got me thinking about a summer bucket list. What do you want to do? Have you made any plans yet? My biggest wish is for hot weather, it would be so good if we actually knew it was going to be warm and nice as then you would have so many plans. Also it would be so good to be able to leave all your chairs and cushions etc out in the garden all summer, I get so fed up bringing it all in as soon as the weather changes.

I think my list goes like this:

Camping with the family.

Going to the open air swimming pool in Faversham with the children.

Getting a tan.

Enjoying a glass of wine in Jodie’s hot tub.

Going to the beach.

Spending an afternoon in the sunshine with friends and drinking a cocktail.

Eating in the garden.

Seeing more of the UK in the camper van.

Sitting outside in the evening just chilling.

Taking lots of photo’s in manual mode on camera. (I need the practise)

Going up the stables with a picnic, watching them all ride.

I am sure I will think of lots more as soon as I have finished this.

I saw these cute note books in The Works, you can never have too many!

This is the book I am reading now and so far it is ok, a FBI agent has crashed her car and lost her memory so I guess anything could happen next. I have a few ideas but I am probably wrong, I think I have seen a film along the same lines but as usual I cannot remember the name of it.

This is a new author for me and one I have not heard off, I like giving reviews for different authors.

I have been asked if I would like to do another hypnotherapy session with Mark down at Core Therapies in exchange for a review, so that will be happening after Easter.

Tomorrow is the meeting for the Folkestone writers which I attend, this year I will be doing a lot of their advertising on social media and getting the word out about the writing competition this year and the anthology. We still have some books left from last year if anybody would like one please let me know.

Hope you are all having a good week and dodging the showers.

WEEKEND AT CAMBER SANDS

We have holiday parks in the UK and one of them is Pontins at Camber Sands so I took Izzy, Alfie and Mia there for the weekend and they loved it.

In one of the daily newspapers called the Sun you can collect ten tokens and then you get the holiday for £10 each person, so it is a good deal and there are so many places you can visit.  I picked this one as it is not very far away as it was just for the weekend.

This park is one of the biggest I have ever been too, spread out over a large area with so many different things for the children to do.  Also entertainment every evening in the clubhouse.  Children’s clubs run everyday with lots of different games and sports for them to attend if they want to.

The dinosaur park is really amazing with sound to all the creatures.

Shame about Alfie getting eaten though!  LOL

These bikes were a hit with everyone and so much fun for the kids.

Glow in the dark glasses, bracelets and necklaces went down well during the evening also bubble machines.  A great pound shop for the kids to spend their pocket-money and a supermarket with everything you would need.

We all had so much fun that we are going to book this park again.

LIPSTICK LOVE

IMG_0563.jpg

There is nothing better than treating yourself to a decent lipstick especially one by YvesSaintLaurent and that is what I did last week.  It feels so good the way it slides on and you know by the feel of it that it really is moisturising your lips as well as looking good.

I love the casing so it is a luxury item in my handbag.  Talking of handbags I am on the look out for a new winter bag, really do not want to go for black again so I am thinking grey with maybe a toning colour.  The shops are full of the winter bits now so sad that summer is over but they are predicting a burst of heat later in the week so I will be making the most of that as I am sure that will be the last of the sunbathing weather we will see here in Kent.

The colour looks a bit darker in this picture and I took it in natural sunlight so not sure what is going on there.  It does go really well with this nail varnish which is one of my favourite colours from Avon.  I really like their nail varnish as not too expensive and the range of styles and colours are really good.

Peaches will miss relaxing in the sunshine and she really does become very moody in the winter, I guess she takes after me lol.

Have a great week and may your dreams come true.

SCOOTER DAY, PARK & GRANDCHILDREN

I have a nice park and large green by me so I took Mia and Zac there to run off a bit of energy, they loved it.

Also riding their scooters there and back, I love this green as it is split up into parts for different activities and there is a path going round the edge for walkers and riders.  I am surprised Mia did not fall off as she is forever looking and watching other children, very nosy lol.  It is hard to believe that we are half way through August already and before we can blink they will all be back at school.  I will miss Mia and our days together as she starts big school but she will be replaced with Zac once a week, where do the years go, they are all growing up so quickly.

George will be in 6th form so he has to wear suits everyday now, they look so smart and gets them used to wearing them for work which I think is a super idea and makes them take a pride in their appearance.

Jodie was extremely proud of her 3 eldest children all working at the weekend also a very proud Nan here, such good mannered caring children.  Well done Jodie, great parenting.

Billie was ecstatic watching her eldest Jade in the riding competition and again such a lovely person she is growing up to be as she is also superb with her two young siblings.  Not easy with such a big age gap but Billie manages to give them all what they need.

Sometimes it is hard being part of a big family and sharing your time as the older you get the harder it is to keep up with them not only in looking after them but all the things and gadgets they are into.  Alfie plays Minecraft, I find this so repetitive building things all the time but the younger generation love it and it is in the top 5 games.  Computers, iPads and smart phones are just a way of life now so get yourself trained to keep up with them, once you know the basics you will pick bits up by watching the children.

Happy holidays and treasure every minute. x

SAND STORIES

IMG_0294

While watching Alfie on the sand leaving footprints as he splashed in the soggy bits then building sand castles with moats, digging holes to see if he could find the water and just leaving all sorts of marks including his name to show he had been there.  It made me think of the many children that have also done that over the years, their costumes may have changed style but the joys of the beach never change for children.

The many dimensions of family life never changes the thrill of the beach and what you can build with the sand.  It evolves over the years but never changes, every day it takes the children’s castles and returns flat for the next session of memories to be made.

Layers of memories and stories stored in the depths, if you dig far enough you find a story and then it is yours to tell.  Have pirates walked on your sand?  Are there caves with fairies or wolves?  Was there a castle with a princess looking for her prince?  So many ideas you get from sitting on the sand holding the grains as they run through your fingers, how many fingers have they touched?

Many stories could be told, I am writing mine, what would you write about?

Happy day dreams x

A PERFECT DAY

Very occasionally you have a day that is so perfect in every way possible and that makes up for the days that are not so perfect.  Family and friends enjoying the sunshine building sand castles and memories that will last forever.

Sunny sands in Folkestone is the perfect spot, was lovely having both my girls there and so many of the grandchildren all having fun together.

The sea was a bit cold but they did not seem to notice with all the running about.  We definitely need more sunshine days like this.

DAY AT THE FOUNTAINS IN FOLKESTONE

IMG_0168

Folkestone harbour has some great attractions now and the one the children enjoy most are the fountains, you never know how high the water is going to go.  Zac had never been before so he was a bit hesitant at first and decided to have a feel just to make sure the water was real, funny boy.  After a few minutes you could not stop him from running about in, out and over them, we had such fun just watching him.

IMG_0169

Love that picture above, I think my photography is getting better.  After all that enjoyment it was time for food.  At Chummies food stall you can get hot and cold seafood, noodles and chips.  Noodles were the firm favourite, eating them the quickest way possible! LOL

A lovely summer day enjoyed by everyone, we definitely need some more of these as seeing the sun is very rare this year.
