SHOULD APOLOGISE, SORRY READERS

HAPPY MONDAY

The sun is still shining here and I have a few blog posts to write as I have been very bad, too much time spent outside in garden and out with family. It has been great though and it makes you realise again how much you love your garden, seeing your plants and bulbs coming up and then remembering planting them, or not as occasionally I see something growing and have no idea what it is or how it got there. Do you find that?

I have been doing some reading but that has gone a bit slow because the last two books I have had trouble getting into, I do feel so bad when that happens but have to keep telling myself that you cannot like everything.

I have some places in Folkestone to visit for reviews, I love seeing new businesses open and encouraging the customers in.

I also hurt my back so that has slowed me down in everything but it is much better but I have to remember not to bend or pick up anything.

Very disappointed in the response to my competition, so will do one more post and make it very easy to enter. I know the pre-school children would like the show.

COMPETITION TIME

Please share with families and groups as I am sure loads of youngsters would like to win this.

CBEEBIES SARAH & DUCK’S BIG TOP BIRTHDAY

This show features a host of wonderful characters from the BAFTA Award-winning TV show, Sarah & Duck’s Big Top Birthday. They will play at the Leas Cliff Hall, Folkestone on the 30th April.

Join Sarah and Duck, along with all their favourite friends including The Ribbon Sisters, The Shallots, Flamingo and Umbrella, as they plan a circus-themed birthday party for Scarf Lady in their garden. But when the weather turns windy and the big top is blown away, will Sarah and Duck be able to save the day?

Told through a fantastic blend of inventive puppetry, charming storytelling and toe-tapping music, and featuring all the familiar voices from the CBeebies series including Roger Allam as the Narrator and Lesley Nicol as Scarf Lady, Sarah & Duck’s Big Top Birthday will take families on a magical theatrical adventure.

Following the gentle adventures of a girl and her feathered best friend.  Sarah & Duck has been a huge hit since its debut in 2013, winning a BAFTA for ‘Best Pre-School Animation’ in 2014 and regularly appearing in CBeebies’ Top Ten programmes for viewers aged 4-15. Now in its third series, it is shown in over 100 counties around the world.

How would you like to win a family ticket to see the show and a book about the magic things they get up to?

All you have to do is answer this question:

How old is Sarah?

Good luck everyone x 🙂

ONE LOVE MANCHESTER

One-Love-Manchester

If you are not watching this then make sure you take a look on-line when you are free.  What a concert, there are no words to describe how good this is, you can feel the atmosphere and the love that is in Manchester tonight.  The amount of stars that gave up their time to come here for this are amazing, then you also have the tributes from many other stars that wanted to say a few words.

Britain is recovering from last night in London so this really came at a good time as many people needed reminding not to fear or hide away, we will not be beaten.  My heart goes out to the many that have died in the three terror attacks here, many others are still in hospital.  Our thoughts are with the many families that are suffering from these cruel, cowardly attacks.

MAY DAY MURDER BY JULIE WASSMER – BOOK REVIEW

Here we have another Whitstable Pearl Mystery which is just as good as the others, this is my final one so I hope Julie writes some more pretty quick.

It was good catching up with Pearl, her mother Dolly and her son Charlie and not forgetting the lovely sounding DCI Mike McGuire.  They all sound so real I keep hoping I might bump into the handsome police detective when I am in Canterbury.

May Day comes but once a year and this one brings an actress returning to her roots to open the May Day festivities but before she can reacquaint with past loves and friends someone decides to murder her.

Can Pearl solve this one before McGuire or will he stick to the rules and work it out for himself?  Secrets and lies are hidden but who will they hurt when out in the open and who had anything to gain by committing this horrible murder on May Day.

Another brilliant story, well written with lots of local items about the brilliant places in Kent.  I again did not guess who did the murder, I could never be a detective, Pearl makes it all sound so easy the way she puts it all together.  Brilliant 5 stars for a great series, I cannot wait for them to make it into a tv series.

BIRTHDAYS & FAMILY TIME

The years go by so quickly, before you can blink they have all grown up but will always be in your heart.  It is lovely looking back at the photos that we have so many of now with the smart phones.

Friday Alfie turned 9 it seems like only yesterday I was flying back from Spain for his birth, then today Izzy is 14, definitely makes you feel old.

A busy weekend with a lovely brunch yesterday prepared by Jodie, so nice for us all to get together.  Then last night there was more partying in the hot tub, I returned home for an evening with a book, lol.

Cosmo the Elf returned for Alfie’s birthday and my friend Jackie, one of the lovely ladies who lunch made him a new jumper.

I read about a book called The Durrell’s of Corfu then realised it was a TV program so my Sunday evening is being spent watching the first series on catch-up, I must say it is very good and I think I will read the books as well one day.

I am now on the look out for lots of pretty tea-cups as I saw this on Pinterest and I think it will look great in my garden above a false fire-place.

Have a great evening and week everyone, still hoping for sunshine here but I guess you can’t have everything.

SUNDAY LOVE

IMG_0297

I am looking forward to a good week after being ill for nearly four weeks I think I am coming out the other side, I am not saying I am 100% but I can see light at the end of the tunnel.  I also really want to get back into my writing and I have not felt like that for a long time.  The only thing I have been doing is reading and wow have I read some great books lately, check out the reviews on my page.

So, what is the love about?

Valentines Day, when did it become February full of love month?  I have nothing against love but for all us single girls it does all become a bit much, every magazine, paper, TV station, adverts, advertising boards all full of bloody love.  I really do not think that all the people who wish to buy a card or present need so much reminding about what they can get and where, we are not stupid.  Rant over, have a great day x
