RE-BLOGGED. BUCKET LIST, THINGS TO-DO

Will this push me to accomplish or just put a spanner in the works and put me off! Have to carry on now and further blogs will let you know the result, I am sure!

1. Write something every day. Starting with a nice easy one.

2. Enter at least 6 competitions this year. Very, very brave but I can at least try.

3. Finish novel this year! Not sure about this one.

4. Send off at least 5 short stories in the next few months. Notice no time scale on this one, I am being nice to myself.

5. Buy a camper and travel round Italy for 6 months, eating, drinking red wine and writing. Would love to do this now!

6. Remember to Tweet, Face Book and Blog more every day. Need more time to read all the blogs I love to follow.

7. Have enough money to drink Champagne instead of wine.

8. Find a way to eat chocolate and not ask if my bum looks big now!

9. Spoil my grandchildren.

10. Develop a way to stop slugs eating my vegetables. That’s if all my veg grow this year, if not I will just say that the slugs ate everything! Thought…..find time to grow the vegetables!

11. Throw a massive party and invite everybody I know and tell them “My book has been published”

12. Was going to say, find my soul mate get married and live happily ever after……..think that’s a dream.

Up-date
I have realised I am not getting on as well as what I was expecting, so I have to do better. Must write more everyday or maybe spend two days a week just writing. The garden is going to need doing soon, I feel stress coming on. Must get my vegetables in so I have something to eat in summer, mmmmm dreaming of fresh picked strawberry’s now.

There is also one more thing to go on my list and that is to open a nice friendly book shop/coffee shop with big comfy sofas and do things like childrens story time, homework club and theme day’s so they get to love books.

The adult’s could have a book club or even a writing club, so many ideas. Just need to win the lottery now to buy the shop!

Happy dreaming x

GIRLS THAT LUNCH

Lovely title, was going to put ladies but thought it sounded a bit old…..like we are all twenty lol
Sitting on the terrace at Rocksalt seafront in Folkestone was lovely to feel the sun on you with good friends. The restaurant is owned by Mark Sargeant, who used to work at Claridge’s in London. He has created a lovely atmosphere and the cocktails are yummy.

I had some very exciting news this morning when I checked my emails, I have been awarded a ‘Lovely Blog Award’ how brilliant. To say I was chuffed is an understatement and I have let everybody know all about it. I will answer it properly tomorrow when I have thought about questions, the girls did think of some at lunch but I could not possibly write those, could I?

World Book Day is tomorrow, not been a lot of news about it. One of my granddaughters can draw a picture of her favourite character and write why she likes it. Think Izzy would of preferred to write a story as she loves that. I have been looking for some competitions for her to enter but have not seen any for ten year olds. We are going to the library after school, hopefully something of interest happening there.

We have a shop here called Pound Land, what a lovely assortment of Easter things they have, think there will be a bit of “making & doing” going on over the Easter holidays. As you have guessed by the name everything in there is £1 so a very economical way to spend a few hours with your grandchildren. I draw the line at wearing an Easter Bonnet though!

BAD DAY

Friday at last, I do not mean to wish my life away but sometimes you just really want the week to end. It has not exactly been a bad week more like I have had a bad week, you know the sort when everything is a struggle and you do not seem to be getting anywhere fast. I tried to keep on top of things but put the waste bin out on the wrong day, yes, ok we all make mistakes but then I was told it was also the wrong bin! it is not recycling week.

There was a good moment when my daughter got very organised for a change and bought her nephew’s birthday cards early and wrote in them, even putting the money in it but then on Wednesday she could not find the card’s anywhere. I did have a little chuckle to myself and told her she was getting like me, that did not go down well. ( cards still missing )

I took my cup from the lounge to kitchen, put the kettle on and made myself a coffee, one problem, I had forgotten to wash the cup up so it had dregs of tea in it! Have you tasted tea/coffee? I would not recommend it.

I have so many List’s on the go, I need a list of list’s. Why do we get so forgetful? It cannot be age as I am not old enough! Does it come from our parents……they remember more than me! I think my brain just goes on a melt down and will not function, they say a glass of red wine is good for you, maybe it is all because I have not had any this week! Is it wine o’clock yet?
See you tomorrow, if I remember. Xx

DAY AT THE ZOO

20130220-075147 PM.jpg
I spent a lovely day with the 4 year old grandson at the zoo, I’m not sure what hurt most my legs from all the walking or my ears from the constant talking! It was a lovely day out in the sunshine though and hopefully Spring is round the corner.

It always make me wonder how happy the animals are in their compounds but at least the areas are so big now you sometimes have trouble finding them. The tiger cubs were looking very cute at their first press call and seemed to be loving the attention.

We spent a lot of time at the elephants or “big” as he called them when he was little as no way was he getting his mouth round elephant! This was about the 4th time we had been to the park and I am always amazed at how children can do the same things and love it like it was their first time. They are like it with films, can watch it over and over and laugh as if they have never heard it before. My little bookworm Izzy will read books that she really likes again and again! What age do we get to where we cannot do that or is it because we only just about find time to read it or watch it in the first place?

I love the time I spend with my grandchildren it’s such a different relationship from your own children and I guess it may have something to do with the fact that you can give them back, so you just get the good bit!

Time to relax now, where’s that wine!
