Carol Wyer’s books just get better and better and this series about DI Robyn Carter is excellent. How many girls need to go missing and why are there not any clues, no one is a high suspect and your clever if you worked this one out as I was shocked towards the end about what was happening. I could not read it fast enough and it really makes you turn the pages.
DI Robyn Carter is a great character and I am really looking forward to the next book in this series which I believe is due later this year. As Carter goes on a drug bust they end up with nothing to do with drugs but a body in a trunk which starts of this tale of terror. This is highly recommended and goes in my top 5 books of this year.
Thank you to Netgalley for sending this book for an honest review.
This post will apply to the many that have maybe heard about podcasts but know nothing about them, I am in this group and I am thinking most of my friends would have no idea how to listen, what to listen to, the price and where you get them from. I was reading a blog this morning From Roses by Rebecca, which you can find here
What a good find as I then clicked on one of the posts about the podcasts that she likes. They sounded really good so I then clicked on one of those and it took me to subscribe but the best bit is that they all do not cost you anything so you subscribe and listen to what ever you want. While typing this I am listening to Glamour magazine, I am actually feeling very proud of myself. Why have I never looked into podcasts before, I guess we all think it is a bit scary. The choice is amazing and covers everything you could think of, so let’s get listening, you can use headphones if you want but as I live alone I just listen through iPad or mac but if you are out then you can listen from your phone. I am full of information today lol.
I read a lot of blogs via Bloglovin as they have every topic you could think of, again very easy to use.
I do keep thinking about audio books but they appear to be a bit expensive as in about £10 a month but I did find this app yesterday which does look interesting and a good deal but the prices are in $ so I have asked for the £ version, will keep you informed.
I feel like I have had a very productive few days, being in bed is good for some things!
After reading an excellent article about this author and her books I asked for this one for my birthday which my daughter bought me. I have never had any contact or information about IVF so this book is very informative, in fact almost an information book. There are many view points here so you get a good all round picture of what’s going on with everyone even the men involved which I thought was interesting as they are forgotten a bit I feel in all these procedures. The character’s are all held together with the connection of IVF, I think I would have found this more interesting if I had a connection but as I didn’t it was all a bit clinical and dare I say boring in parts, the main story could happen a lot quicker I felt.
So, sorry but this was not for me but a definite read for anyone struggling to conceive or going through IVF.
There are so many media platforms for authors and bloggers now that it makes it harder to decide which ones to connect to. If you can link them altogether so you only have to make one post that will automatically go to all sites then that is the best plan.
I have always liked blogging as it is something you can do anytime, anywhere so long as you have internet. You can write about anything or be focussed on just a particular theme, there are many beauty style blogs around at the moment especially for the younger generation who are really into make-up, with their highlighting and contouring but how would the teenager find your blog?
I still think it is hard to get your blog out there as unless you look in the blogging sites like WordPress or you know them to follow on social media then how do new people find you? I am finding it ok for the people of Folkestone as I leave my cards about and am on the Folkestone sites but other than that I get most of my followers from doing book reviews for authors and publishers.
Do other bloggers have these problems? What do you do to advertise yourself?
Would you ever attempt a vlog? I know I would definitely not as I really do not like the sound of my own voice, even though I am sure I could talk for ever about anything. I guess you still have to have a theme that would appeal to most people so chatting away about your family is not going to work.
I must admit I do consciously avoid the posts in my feed that are vlogs or even just videos about anything, I prefer to just read a variety of blogs.
